Following the vote, the streets of Yeouido, where a rally calling for President Yoon Suk-yeol’s impeachment took place, were filled with the sound of Girls’ Generation’s debut song, “Into the New World.” This song, often sung at rallies, continued to capture attention after the impeachment decision.

Released in 2007, “Into the New World” was the title track of Girls’ Generation’s first single. Known for its hopeful and encouraging lyrics, the song remains beloved by fans. It has been featured at numerous rallies, including those calling for impeachment, alongside other songs like G-Dragon’s “Crocodile” and aespa’s “Next Level.”

Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, who saw fans attending the rally with “wish sticks,” expressed her admiration, “The wish sticks were so beautiful and cool. Hearing ‘Into the New World’ was amazing. I also listen to it every day.” On December 14, Yuri also visited a nearby gimbap restaurant in Dangsan-dong, Seoul, where she pre-ordered gimbap for fans, making headlines.

After the first impeachment motion was rejected on December 7, rallies demanding President Yoon’s impeachment continued. Many citizens participated, holding light sticks instead of candles to voice their demands. Celebrities such as IU, Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, and NewJeans supported the rally by pre-ordering meals and drinks for attendees, while director Park Chan-wook bought all the bread from a bakery in Yeouido to share with rally participants.
